The details, in plain language
Terms of Use.
What you can do with JMacy.
What we promise, and what we don’t.
01 / The agreement
Using JMacy means accepting these terms.
JMacy is a native Mac download manager made by Greycore Labs LLC (“Greycore Labs”, “we”). These terms cover the JMacy app, the JMacy browser extension, and this website. By installing or using any of them you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use JMacy.
How JMacy handles your data is covered separately in the privacy page.
Last updated 15 October 2026.
02 / Access through Setapp
JMacy comes with Setapp.
JMacy is distributed only through Setapp by MacPaw. Your right to use JMacy comes from an active Setapp membership, or from a one-time purchase made through Setapp, under Setapp’s terms. There is no direct download, license key, or separate purchase from Greycore Labs.
While your Setapp access is active, Greycore Labs grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use JMacy on the Macs covered by that access.
No membership, no JMacy.
JMacy checks your access through the Setapp framework built into the app. Without an active membership the app stays locked, new downloads cannot start, and current transfers pause. Access becoming active again unlocks JMacy without a reinstall.
- Billing, cancellation, refunds
- Handled by Setapp under Setapp’s terms. Contact Setapp support for anything about your membership or payment.
- Ownership
- JMacy is licensed, not sold. Greycore Labs keeps all rights to the app, the extension, the name, and the artwork.
You may not remove or work around the Setapp access check, redistribute JMacy, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows it regardless of this term.
03 / Updates
Updates arrive through Setapp.
New versions of JMacy are delivered and installed by Setapp while your membership is active. We may change, add, or remove features in an update. We may also stop offering JMacy on Setapp, in which case Setapp’s terms describe what happens to your access.
04 / Your responsibilities
What you download is on you.
JMacy is a tool that downloads files you point it at, including HTTP downloads, browser captures, and torrents. You are responsible for everything you download with it. In particular:
- Only download content you have the right to download. Do not use JMacy to infringe copyright or any other right.
- Follow the terms of the websites and services you download from.
- Do not use JMacy to attack, overload, or disrupt any server or network.
- Do not use JMacy for anything illegal where you are.
Greycore Labs does not host, index, or provide any content. JMacy only connects to the servers and peers you choose.
05 / Browser extension
The extension talks only to your Mac.
The JMacy browser extension for Chrome, Chromium browsers, and Safari sends captured links, media URLs, and site cookies to the JMacy app on the same Mac so that logged-in downloads work. It needs the JMacy app installed and open to do anything useful. Each browser’s store terms also apply to the extension you install from that store.
06 / Warranty & liability
Provided as is.
JMacy is provided “as is” and “as available”, without any warranty, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise that JMacy will be error-free, that every download will succeed, or that it will work with every website.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Greycore Labs is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or any content you download. Our total liability to you for any claim related to JMacy is limited to twenty US dollars or the amount you paid for access to JMacy in the twelve months before the claim, whichever is greater.
Some places do not allow these limits, so some of them may not apply to you.
07 / Changes & contact
If these terms change.
We may update these terms when JMacy changes. The date at the top of this page shows the current version. Continuing to use JMacy after a change means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where Greycore Labs LLC is organized, without regard to conflict of law rules.
