01 / Installation

Make yourself at home.

You’ll need an Apple silicon Mac running macOS 14 or later. JMacy is signed and notarized.

  1. Download JMacy for Mac.
  2. Open JMacy.dmg and move JMacy to your Applications folder.
  3. Open JMacy from Applications to begin your 7-day trial. All features are included, with no card required.

02 / Browser setup

Bring your browser along.

Get the extension from the Chrome Web Store (works in Chrome, Aside, Brave, Edge, Arc, and Vivaldi), or install it by hand from the ZIP download. Safari gets it from the App Store as “JMacy Capture”.

Install from the ZIP
  1. Unzip jmacy-extension.zip somewhere you will keep it, for example your Documents folder.
  2. Open your browser’s extensions page (chrome://extensions in Chrome and most Chromium browsers) and turn on Developer mode.
  3. Click Load unpacked and choose the unzipped folder.
  4. Open JMacy once. It registers the browser handoff for every browser it finds.

Once installed, enable it in your browser’s extension settings. Choose your browser below.

Chrome

Open Chrome’s extensions settings. Find JMacy and turn the extension on.

Aside

Open Aside’s extensions settings. Find JMacy and enable it.

Brave

Open Brave’s extensions settings. Find JMacy and turn the extension on.

Edge

Open Edge’s extensions settings. Find JMacy and turn the extension on.

Arc

Open Arc’s extensions settings. Find JMacy and enable it.

Vivaldi

Open Vivaldi’s extensions settings. Find JMacy and turn the extension on.

Safari

Open Safari’s settings and select Extensions. Select the checkbox for JMacy to enable it.

Keep the JMacy app open on the same Mac, then capture a download or an mp4, mp3, or webm from the current page. It will appear in JMacy.

If the JMacy extension isn’t listed, contact support for installation help and include your browser’s name.

The extension reads cookies for the downloading site only and sends captured information only to JMacy on the same Mac. Read the extension privacy details.

03 / Your license

Set up another Mac.

A $24 one-time license covers up to 3 Macs and includes free updates for 1.x.

  1. Install JMacy on the other Mac.
  2. Use your license key to activate JMacy on that Mac.
  3. If you need help activating, contact support. If you already use all 3 Macs, see deactivation below.

04 / Changing Macs

Deactivate a Mac.

To request help deactivating a Mac from your license, email support@greycorelabs.com. Tell us which Mac you want to deactivate and whether you still have access to it.
