No telemetry. No accounts.
JMacy is a native Mac download manager made by Greycore Labs LLC. The app does not collect telemetry, and you do not need an account to use it.
The license and trial checks described below send a hashed machine ID to Greycore Labs’ server.
02 / Licenses & trials
What the license check sends.
- License check
- Your license key and a hashed machine ID are sent to Greycore Labs’ server to check your license.
- Free trial
- The trial records the hashed machine ID.
The machine identifier is sent in hashed form.
03 / Browser extension
From your browser to JMacy.
The JMacy browser extension reads the information needed to capture a download:
- Download URLs.
- Cookies for the downloading site only, so logged-in downloads work.
- Media URLs on the current page, including mp4, mp3, and webm files.
Only to the app on the same Mac.
The extension sends this information only to the JMacy app running on the same Mac. It never sends this information to any server.
This applies to the JMacy extension for Chrome, Aside, Brave, Edge, Arc, Vivaldi, and Safari.
